Art is an integral part of my being and I have been painting and drawing and compulsively doodling as far back as I can remember. I studied art at Stellenbosch University, but went on to pursue horticulture as a career. After semi-retiring a few years ago, I have spent more time making art and have enjoyed being a member of the Knysna Arts Society and taking part in their regular exhibitions.
Nature in all its forms, shapes and colours is my primary inspiration, and the medium and style I choose is influenced by the subject matter or my mood. I use anything, from paint to charcoal to aromatic plant extracts, and enjoy being expressive or abstract or realistic or something else. As a naturalist/artist, I am intrigued by the incredible diversity of life and the designs and connections therein, I wish I had multiple lives to afford me the time to explore all this and capture it in my art!
Some of my work can be seen at Visit Knysna’s Office as well as at ART at Oaks on Main
