Artist, potter, ceramicist, mosaic artist and printmaker
Born 1968 I graduated with a Fine Arts degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1991. I was fortunate to receive instruction and tuition from some of South Africa’s greatest artists like Penny Siopis, Karel Nel, Walter Oltman and Peter Schutz. Although I majored in drawing and painting, I also studied printmaking and sculpture.
I have spent the last few decades teaching high school Visual Arts and have an excellent reputation as an experienced, skills-based educator capable of developing and nurturing individual creativity. I am grateful to be in Knysna, having reached a stage where I am able to dedicate more of my time to making art and beautiful art objects.
I work in a variety of media and have a deep love for pattern as well as the dramatic contrasts of black and white seen in many of my ceramic pieces and lino prints. I am available to take on commission work in ceramics, lino printing and mosaics and can to offer individual tuition by arrangement.
